Semaglutide Before And After Transformations

While we look to clinical trials and scientifically backed studies to prove that weight loss treatments work, it’s our customers’ transformations, documented in before and after photos, that really get us excited about what GLP-1 treatments can do. We’ve asked Anna, a Levity customer, to share her own personal story and weight loss journey – “Before it felt like it was so hard to lose weight, like maybe my body is just never gonna lose the weight. It felt impossible, like it was never going to happen for me.” Read on to see how Anna lost 40 lbs in just six months taking Compounded Semaglutide.*

But First, What Is Semaglutide?

Semaglutide is the active ingredient in many popular weight loss drugs including Wegovy, and Ozempic (which is currently approved primarily to treat type 2 diabetes). A glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist, it mimics a gut hormone the body releases when we eat, which then tells the body to produce insulin, regulates blood sugar levels, decreases appetite and increases feelings of fullness by slowing gastric emptying. [1] It also impacts hunger signals in the brain, which helps quieten food noise and reduce appetite. [2]

How Is Compounded Semaglutide Different?

When you see the word ‘compounded’ in the name of a medication, it essentially means that a state-licensed pharmacy like Levity has been given permission to produce their own, generic version of a popular GLP-1 treatment using the same active ingredients, in this case semaglutide. This usually happens when there is a shortage of the branded medications. The added benefit of producing compounded drugs is that they are often available at a far cheaper price than their branded counterparts.

Anna’s Semaglutide Success Story

Most clinical trials that track how effective GLP-1 treatments are look at weight loss over the course of 12 months. In the case of semaglutide injections, they’ve shown to help people lose up to 15% of their body weight in a year (alongside a healthy diet and regular exercise). [3] For Levity customer Anna, she’s seen incredible results in just six months of treatment so far. She explains, "The emotional eating is gone and that's something that I've struggled with for so long. I don't have to be super strict. I don't have to obsess over it. I can just let it be a normal thing, and I'm incredibly thankful for that.”

Before and After Transformation

The positive effects of semaglutide go beyond simply losing weight for Anna. It has allowed her to live a healthier lifestyle and take part in physical activities more comfortably and consistently too.  “There are just so many things that are more difficult when you're a larger size and I didn't want to live the rest of my life like that. It makes everything else I'm doing – the nutrition and the working out – actually give me results. It's been so worth it – I've never had results like this before. I’m incredibly thankful” says Anna.
